Kevin Neal Gardner: Isolated Figures I

Daniel’s Butt,

oil on paper, 2015

I remember people more as a collection of details than as a whole form, and I look at and paint people with this idea in mind and to explore and depict texture and color. I am curious about the awkwardness of a posed academic nude - the history to it and the strangeness of it, that a person is standing or lying there and knowing that he is being observed.
